A GoHighLevel Contact Form 7 integration sounds like it should be a single toggle, but there is no native HighLevel connector for CF7. Every working setup either replaces the form, pushes it through a webhook, or routes it through Zapier or Make.
This guide walks through the four realistic routes to connect Contact Form 7 to HighLevel, what each one costs in October 2026, how to map fields (including hidden UTM fields and SMS consent), and how to test the whole thing before a real lead goes missing.
Quick Facts
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Native CF7 app in HighLevel | None — you need a bridge (webhook, Zapier or Make) |
| Webhook bridge plugin | CF7 to Webhook (slug cf7-to-zapier), free on wordpress.org, 30,000+ sites |
| HighLevel Inbound Webhook trigger | Premium trigger: 100 free lifetime executions per sub-account, then US$0.01 per execution (HighLevel help docs, 2026) |
| Zapier | No native CF7 trigger; uses Webhooks by Zapier, a paid-plan feature |
| Make | Has a Contact Form 7 app, but it relies on an extra WordPress plugin |
| LeadConnector WordPress plugin | Embeds HighLevel widgets and funnels; does not sync CF7 submissions |
Why Contact Form 7 needs a bridge to reach HighLevel
Contact Form 7 was built to send an email, not to talk to a CRM. Out of the box, a submission lands in an inbox and nowhere else.
HighLevel, on the other hand, wants a contact record so a Workflow can fire, a tag can apply and an opportunity can drop into your pipeline. The integration job is simply moving the submission from CF7's mail step into a HighLevel contact.
Route 1: Replace Contact Form 7 with an embedded HighLevel form
The cleanest GoHighLevel Contact Form 7 integration is often no integration at all. You rebuild the form in HighLevel's form builder and embed it on the same WordPress page.
Submissions then create or update the contact directly, fire the Form Submitted trigger, and carry attribution data automatically. There is no plugin to maintain and nothing extra to pay for.
If you're new to the builder, our HighLevel forms and surveys setup guide covers field types, styling and embed codes step by step.
When replacing makes sense
- The CF7 form is a simple enquiry or quote form with a handful of fields.
- You want HighLevel's built-in attribution and SMS consent handling.
- You'd rather not manage another WordPress plugin or a third-party automation bill.
Route 2: CF7 to Webhook plugin posting to a HighLevel Inbound Webhook
This is the route I use most when the CF7 form has to stay. The free CF7 to Webhook plugin on wordpress.org (its slug is still cf7-to-zapier, from its original purpose) sends each submission as JSON to any URL you give it.
On the HighLevel side, you catch that JSON with the Inbound Webhook workflow trigger. It is a premium trigger: per HighLevel's help documentation (2026), each sub-account gets 100 free lifetime executions, then it bills at US$0.01 per execution.
For a business getting 300 enquiries a month, that is a few dollars — far less than any automation subscription. We go deeper on payloads and mapping in our guide to HighLevel inbound and outbound webhooks.
Webhook setup, step by step
- In WordPress, install and activate Contact Form 7, then install CF7 to Webhook.
- In HighLevel, create a new Workflow and add the Inbound Webhook trigger. Copy the webhook URL it generates.
- Open your CF7 form, find the plugin's new tab, paste the URL and save.
- Submit one test entry on the live page, then go back to the trigger and fetch the sample request so HighLevel can see the field names.
- Add a Create Contact (or Create/Update) action and map first name, email, phone and any custom fields from the inbound webhook data.
- Add your follow-up actions — tag, pipeline opportunity, internal notification — and publish the Workflow.
Agencies can enable and rebill premium workflow features per sub-account; HighLevel explains the settings in its premium workflow features help article.
Route 3: Connect Contact Form 7 to HighLevel with Zapier or Make
Both Zapier and Make work, but neither connects to CF7 on its own. You still need a WordPress plugin to push the data out.
Zapier: Catch Hook plus a bridge plugin
Zapier has no native Contact Form 7 trigger. The standard pattern, recommended in Zapier's own community forum, is CF7 to Webhook sending to a Webhooks by Zapier “Catch Hook” trigger, then a LeadConnector action to create or update the contact.
Webhooks by Zapier needs a paid plan. Per Zapier's published pricing (October 2026), Professional starts at US$19.99 a month billed annually or US$29.99 billed monthly, and the Free plan is limited to two-step Zaps with 100 tasks a month.

Make: the Contact Form 7 app and its plugin
Make does list a Contact Form 7 app with a “Watch New Form Submission” module. Per Make's help centre (2026), it requires the separate CF7 Redirections, Integrations, and Database plugin, and Make itself notes known issues, suggesting CF7 to Webhook as the alternative.
On cost, Make's free plan includes 1,000 credits a month with two active scenarios, per Make's pricing (October 2026). That can cover a low-volume form, but scheduled checks on the free plan are limited to a 15-minute interval, which hurts speed-to-lead.
Our Make.com and HighLevel setup guide covers the HighLevel modules once the data is inside Make.
Route 4: What the LeadConnector WordPress plugin actually does
Plenty of people install the LeadConnector plugin expecting it to grab CF7 entries. It doesn't.
Per its wordpress.org listing (2026), the plugin displays HighLevel chat widgets, embeds HighLevel forms, surveys and calendars, and publishes funnel steps as WordPress pages. It also offers LeadConnector SMTP for site email.
That makes it a handy companion to Route 1, not a CF7 sync tool.
GoHighLevel Contact Form 7 integration cost comparison
Here's how the routes compare on top of your HighLevel subscription. Per gohighlevel.com/pricing (October 2026), plans are Starter at US$97, Unlimited at US$297 and Agency Pro at US$497 a month.
| Route | Extra software | Extra cost (Oct 2026) | Real-time? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Replace with HighLevel form | None (optional LeadConnector plugin) | US$0 | Yes | Simple enquiry forms |
| 2. CF7 to Webhook + Inbound Webhook | CF7 to Webhook (free) | 100 free executions, then US$0.01 each | Yes | Keeping CF7 at low cost |
| 3a. Zapier | CF7 to Webhook + Zapier paid plan | From US$19.99/month (annual) | Yes | Teams already paying for Zapier |
| 3b. Make | Bridge plugin + Make | Free tier (1,000 credits), paid above that | Depends on trigger type | Multi-app scenarios |
| 4. LeadConnector plugin alone | LeadConnector plugin | US$0 | Not applicable | Embedding HighLevel assets only |

Field mapping: names, hidden UTM fields and consent
Most broken integrations I audit fail at mapping, not at connection. CF7's default field names (your-name, your-email) are fine, but rename them to something obvious like first_name, email and phone before you capture the sample payload.
Name, email and phone
- Split full name into first and last name fields, or HighLevel will store everything as first name.
- Use CF7's tel tag for phone and ask for an international format so SMS actions don't fail.
- Always map email or phone — HighLevel needs one of them to de-duplicate the contact.
Hidden fields for UTM tracking
CF7 has a hidden form-tag, and adding default:get tells it to read a value from the page URL's query string, per the Contact Form 7 hidden field documentation. A tag like [hidden utm_source default:get] picks up utm_source from the landing URL.
Add matching custom fields in HighLevel (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) and map them in the Create Contact action.
SMS consent checkbox and A2P
If your Workflow sends texts, collect consent on the form itself. CF7's acceptance tag gives you a required checkbox; pass its value through and store it in a custom field or as a tag.
For US numbers, A2P 10DLC registration reviewers look for clear opt-in wording on your forms. In Australia, the Spam Act requires consent for commercial messages. Branch the Workflow so only contacts who ticked the box get SMS.
Stop CF7 spam before it pollutes your CRM
Every spam submission that reaches the webhook becomes a fake contact and a wasted premium execution.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: CF7's documentation now recommends it and notes it's free, unlike Google reCAPTCHA. Keys go under Contact → Integration.
- reCAPTCHA v3: still supported, but keys need to live in a Google Cloud project for newer CF7 versions.
- Akismet: CF7 supports Akismet content filtering if spam still gets past the challenge.
Inside HighLevel, add a Workflow filter that stops on empty email and phone, or on obvious junk patterns, before any outbound message fires.
Testing your Contact Form 7 to HighLevel connection
Don't trust a green tick in the plugin settings.
- Submit the live form from an incognito window using a tagged URL.
- Check the Workflow's execution log to confirm the trigger fired.
- Open the new contact and verify every field, tag and UTM value.
- Confirm the opportunity landed in the right pipeline stage.
- Submit again with the same email to confirm it updates rather than duplicates.
Then time it. If the first reply takes longer than five minutes, tighten things up with our 5-minute speed-to-lead workflow.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Installing the LeadConnector plugin and assuming it syncs CF7 entries.
- Capturing the webhook sample before renaming CF7 fields, then mapping stale keys.
- Paying for a Zapier plan just to move one form into HighLevel.
- Leaving CF7 without Turnstile or Akismet, so spam burns premium executions.
- Sending SMS without a consent checkbox or a Workflow branch that checks it.
- Skipping the duplicate-submission test and ending up with doubled contacts.

Frequently asked questions
Does GoHighLevel have a native Contact Form 7 integration?
No. HighLevel has no built-in Contact Form 7 connector. You either replace the form with a HighLevel form, send submissions via a webhook plugin to an Inbound Webhook trigger, or route them through Zapier or Make.
What is the cheapest way to connect Contact Form 7 to HighLevel?
Replacing CF7 with an embedded HighLevel form costs nothing extra. If CF7 must stay, the free CF7 to Webhook plugin plus HighLevel's Inbound Webhook trigger is cheapest, at 100 free executions per sub-account and then US$0.01 each per HighLevel's 2026 help docs.
Is the Inbound Webhook trigger a premium feature?
Yes. HighLevel classes Inbound Webhook as a premium workflow trigger. Each sub-account gets 100 free lifetime executions, after which it is billed per execution, and agencies can rebill the cost to clients.
Do I need a plugin to use Zapier with Contact Form 7?
Yes. Zapier has no native Contact Form 7 trigger, so most setups use the free CF7 to Webhook plugin sending to a Webhooks by Zapier Catch Hook. Webhooks by Zapier requires a paid Zapier plan.
Does the LeadConnector WordPress plugin sync Contact Form 7?
No. The LeadConnector plugin embeds HighLevel chat widgets, forms, surveys and calendars and can publish funnel steps as WordPress pages. It does not capture Contact Form 7 submissions.
Can I pass UTM parameters from Contact Form 7 into HighLevel?
Yes. Add CF7 hidden fields with the default:get option so they read utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign from the page URL. Then map them to matching custom fields in your HighLevel Create Contact action.
How do I stop spam from Contact Form 7 reaching my CRM?
Enable Cloudflare Turnstile or reCAPTCHA v3 under CF7's Integration settings, and add Akismet if spam persists. In HighLevel, add a Workflow filter that stops contacts with no valid email or phone before any messages send.
