HighLevel Affiliate Party at LevelUp 2026: Commanders, a New Award and the GoHighLevel Affiliate Program
My recap of the HighLevel affiliate party at LevelUp 2026: the Commander ceremony, the new Rising Star award, and how the GoHighLevel affiliate program works in 2026.
What happened in the room, paraphrased from my own recording, then every term checked against HighLevel's June 2026 affiliate agreement and help docs.
This post contains affiliate links. I earn a commission if you buy HighLevel through my link. I'm a HighLevel affiliate, and I'm an independent business owner, not an employee or agent of HighLevel. I can't make promises or sign contracts on HighLevel's behalf, and the opinions here are my own. Everything about commission rates and rules below comes from HighLevel's own pages, linked in place, so you can check them yourself.
Last night in Dallas I stood in a room full of HighLevel affiliates at the LevelUp 2026 Affiliate Welcome Party. The founders opened the night, and then people walked on stage to pull on a bomber jacket. It sounds like a small thing. It isn't. That jacket is the HighLevel Commander jacket, and you only get one by earning US$100,000 or more in affiliate commissions in a year.
I'm at LevelUp 2026 as an agency owner, a white-label fulfilment partner and a HighLevel affiliate myself. So this post starts with what happened in the room, in the order it happened, paraphrased from my own recording. After that, I go through how the GoHighLevel affiliate program actually works in 2026, using HighLevel's June 2026 affiliate agreement and help docs for every fact.
The LevelUp 2026 Affiliate Welcome Party, in order
LevelUp 2026 runs 26 to 29 October at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas (official site). The agenda lists an affiliates-only Affiliate Welcome Party on the Monday night, and that's where the Commander ceremony happened. I've left out individual winners' names on purpose. The audio wasn't clear enough to spell them correctly, and I'd rather leave them out than get someone's name wrong on their big night.
The founders' welcome
The host brought HighLevel's three co-founders, Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex (About HighLevel), on stage to welcome everyone. They called the room a family reunion, with familiar faces and a lot of new ones, and honestly, it felt like one.
What they said, in short:
- Affiliates matter. Affiliates are an important part of HighLevel's business, and they thanked the room for helping build the company.
- More events in other markets. HighLevel plans to run a lot more events in other markets and to fly affiliates in for them.
- Dubai. They mentioned that HighLevel also has an office in Dubai and wants to do more there.
- "This year it's about you." The message was that they're there to support and serve affiliates. They signed off by telling everyone to have fun and turn up early the next day.
The Commander ceremony
After a short break, the affiliate team came out to celebrate the Commanders.
What is a HighLevel Commander?A HighLevel Commander is an affiliate who earns at least US$100,000 in HighLevel affiliate commissions within one annual qualification period (currently 1 September to 30 August). It's not a lifetime rank. Commanders get an exclusive Commander jacket with annual badges, a dedicated Slack channel inside HighLevel's workspace, and priority ticket escalation for themselves and their referrals.
On stage, the host put it simply: Commanders are affiliates who generated well over US$100,000 in net new commissions within a year, and they keep changing how HighLevel gets shared in their communities. Last year's group of Commanders was up on the screen.
- The US$100K bar. You must earn US$100,000 in net new commissions in a year to reach the rank. (On stage it was described as a calendar year. HighLevel's help doc says the current period runs 1 September to 30 August, so go with the help doc.)
- The jackets. The Commander jacket is a bomber-style flight jacket, made so that wherever Commanders go in the HighLevel ecosystem, people know who they are.
- First-timers. Several people walked the stage as Commanders for the first time this year and received their jackets.
- Photos with the founders. The founders came back on stage and had a photo with each Commander. That matches the LevelUp Awards page, which says qualifiers can "take a picture with our co-founders, Shaun, Varun and Robin".
A new award: the Rising Star Commander
Next, a member of HighLevel's affiliate team announced a new recognition the team had worked hard on, called the Rising Star Commander. It went to someone who had gone above and beyond in two ways:
- promoting HighLevel in their region, and
- promoting one of HighLevel's add-on products, the certification program.
I couldn't find any official page for this award yet, so treat the criteria as what was said on the night, not a published rule.
The group photo and a teased announcement
To finish, all the Commanders were called to the front, some lined up on the floor and some on the stage, for a group photo (then one more, and one more after that). Before everyone was sent off to grab a drink and keep talking, the hosts teased an affiliate announcement coming soon. I'll add it here once it's public.
Small personal note: I'm also here receiving HighLevel's Gold SaaSPRENEUR Award. It's a different award, for SaaS builders, but it's why I was in the room.
What I took away
- The Rising Star award rewarded promoting an add-on, not just new accounts. That fits the June 2026 agreement, which now lists HighLevel Certifications and AI Employee as 40% commissionable products. If you're an affiliate, the products you can earn on have widened.
- Local matters. The Rising Star was also recognised for their region. Being the go-to HighLevel person where you live counts, and in-person community is clearly a priority for HighLevel this year.
- HighLevel is going global with its affiliates. More events in other markets, flying affiliates in, and an office in Dubai. For those of us outside the US, that's good news.
- Commander is a yearly bar, not a lifetime badge. The jackets get annual badges, and the rank has to be re-earned every qualification year. It rewards affiliates whose referrals keep paying.
So how does the program behind all this actually work? Here are the details.
The GoHighLevel affiliate program at a glance (2026 terms)
The GoHighLevel affiliate program is HighLevel's official referral program. You share a tracked link, and when someone you refer becomes a paying customer, you earn 40% of what they pay every month while they stay subscribed. If an affiliate you recruit makes sales, you can also earn 5% on those (with HighLevel's approval). Payouts go out monthly through Tipalti.
Here are the numbers. I've pulled each one from an official HighLevel source. Terms change, so the "Source" column is there for you to check the current version before you rely on it.
| Term | What HighLevel says (October 2026) | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Direct commission | 40% recurring on Starter (Single Location), Agency Unlimited, Agency Pro (SaaS), White Label Mobile App, HighLevel Certifications, AI Employee and other recurring add-ons | Affiliate Program Services Agreement, June 2026 |
| Second-tier commission | 5% on the same products, for affiliates you recruit, if HighLevel approves the designation | Agreement, Affiliate Portal help doc |
| How long it recurs | While the referred customer keeps an active, paid subscription. Stops when they cancel | Agreement |
| Attribution | Last click, within a 90-day window. Attribution change requests after 90 days are denied | Agreement |
| Qualifying period | The customer must stay in good standing for at least 45 days. A paused account during that time doesn't qualify | Agreement |
| Payout date | Monthly, typically on the 15th of the month after HighLevel receives payment (next business day if the 15th is a weekend or holiday) | Agreement, payout help doc |
| Minimum payout | US$50. If you don't pass US$50 within 120 days, you may forfeit it | Agreement |
| Payment method | Tipalti only. US: direct deposit, PayPal or debit card. International: ACH transfer, PayPal or debit card | Affiliate Portal help doc |
| Clawbacks | Commissions on refunds, chargebacks, cancellations or fraudulent sales can be deducted from future payouts | Agreement |
| Cost to join | Free. Every HighLevel agency account already has an affiliate link | Affiliate Portal help doc |
| Top tier | Commander: at least US$100,000 in commissions in the qualifying year (1 September to 30 August) | Commander help doc |
How much does a HighLevel affiliate commission work out to?
Here's the simple maths using HighLevel's published US pricing on the pricing page. Prices can differ by region and currency (we covered that in our 2026 international pricing update), so treat these as examples, not promises.
| Referred plan (monthly, USD) | 40% direct commission | 5% second tier |
|---|---|---|
| Starter, $97 | $38.80 a month | $4.85 a month |
| Unlimited, $297 | $118.80 a month | $14.85 a month |
| Agency Pro, $497 | $198.80 a month | $24.85 a month |
| HighLevel Certification Program add-on, $97 | $38.80 a month | $4.85 a month |
HighLevel's own help doc uses the same example: three people paying US$297 in September means about US$118 each, paid on 15 October (source).
The trial doesn't count. The help doc says each new signup starts with a 14-day trial, and commission is tracked from the date they become a paying customer, not the date they start the trial.
These are illustrations based on published prices. My results are based on my experience and yours may be different. There is no guarantee you will make money.
How to become a GoHighLevel affiliate (step by step)
There are two paths, depending on whether you already have a HighLevel account.
If you already have a HighLevel agency account
HighLevel's help doc says every agency account is automatically given a unique affiliate link (source). You just need to switch it on.
- Go to Agency View. The Affiliate Portal is only visible to agency admins.
- Click Affiliate Portal in the left menu.
- Complete the onboarding. The first time, you'll review the Affiliate Policy, a compliance video, branding guidelines and a content guide. Don't skim the compliance video. It covers how HighLevel expects you to disclose.
- Find your link. Go to Affiliate Portal, then Dashboard. Select the "HighLevel Affiliate Program" campaign. One link covers the main products.
- Customise your referral token now, not later. You can change the token at the end of your link to something recognisable, but any link you've already shared under the old token stops working.
- Create SubIDs for each channel. One promoter ID can have several link variations, so you can see whether YouTube, email or your blog is bringing in signups.
- Set up Tipalti. Go to Affiliate Portal, then Payment Details. HighLevel can't pay you without it. If you're outside the US, you'll do the relevant tax form here too.
- Turn on referral notifications so you get an email when someone signs up or changes status.
If you don't use HighLevel yet
Apply on the Join the Affiliate Program page. HighLevel describes it as three steps: apply and get access to your affiliate dashboard, share your link using the provided assets, then earn 40% recurring commissions. You can log in later at affiliate.gohighlevel.com/login. If you don't have an active HighLevel account, HighLevel's payout help doc says to email [email protected] for a Tipalti set-up link.
The step most guides miss: the engagement call
The June 2026 Affiliate Program Policies add an engagement requirement. After your second referred customer, you must have a live conversation with a HighLevel team member about affiliate practices before you can receive more payouts. It's usually a video call, or email if time zones don't work. For those of us in Australia, plan for that early so your payouts don't stall.
The rules that can cost you your commissions
HighLevel takes compliance seriously, and the June 2026 policies spell out what gets affiliates removed. These are the ones I'd put on a sticky note.
- Disclose clearly, at the top. For blog posts, HighLevel says the disclosure should sit at the top of the post before the main content. Plain language like "I earn a commission if you buy through my link" is good. Just writing "affiliate link" is not enough. On YouTube or TikTok, you need it spoken and shown on screen near the start, not only in the description (policies).
- No self-referrals. You can't buy HighLevel for yourself or your business through your own link.
- No coupons, discounts, free trials, prizes or other incentives unless HighLevel approves them in writing. That includes "sign up through my link and get X" bonuses.
- No income guarantees and no calling HighLevel a franchise, business opportunity or "business in a box".
- Don't use HighLevel's brand in your domain name or social media handles, and don't copy the look and feel of HighLevel's website.
- No re-affiliation games. Don't help existing customers cancel and re-sign under your link. A cancel-and-resubscribe under a different affiliate within 30 days can be denied.
- Use your link as given. No cookie stuffing, forced redirects, masked URLs or sharing your link with another affiliate.
- No spam, and follow the email and SMS consent rules (CAN-SPAM and TCPA in the US, and our own Spam Act here in Australia).
- Publish your own privacy policy that says you're an independent affiliate of HighLevel, not HighLevel itself.
- Report complaints within 24 hours to HighLevel.
Brand bidding on paid search: HighLevel's older April 2023 affiliate agreement, still published at gohighlevel.com/affiliate-terms, banned bidding on terms like HighLevel, GoHighLevel, GHL, SaaSPRENEUR and "HighLevel coupon" without written consent. The June 2026 policies don't repeat that exact list, but they do ban using the brand in domains and handles and require written approval for promotions. My advice: don't run paid ads on HighLevel brand terms unless your affiliate manager has approved it in writing.
Tools HighLevel gives affiliates (most people never open these)
The Affiliate Resource Hub is better than I expected. It includes:
- Affiliate Camp course on dashboards, links, tracking, funnels and automations.
- Affiliate Strategy Sessions with the affiliate team, every Tuesday, 10:00 to 10:45 am and 3:00 to 3:45 pm US Central time. For us in Brisbane, the afternoon session lands early on Wednesday morning.
- A 1:1 call with an Affiliate Manager, listed as a program perk.
- Brand Kit and Asset Library with approved logos, captions, scripts and graphics.
- The Affiliate Insider playlist and an affiliate community.
- Active Affiliate Offers (affiliate offers page). At the time of writing there are five: a two-day workshop on pricing and selling AI services, a two-day Voice AI sales system workshop, the HighLevel 5 Day Challenge, the HighLevel Certified Admin Program, and a "Get More Clients with HighLevel + AI" workshop. All pay the standard 40% recurring.
HighLevel also runs a free HighLevel Bootcamp offer, which pairs a 30-day free trial with a live bootcamp. Because it's HighLevel's own offer, not one you made up, linking to it doesn't break the "no unauthorised trials" rule. Check with your affiliate manager if you're unsure which link to use.
How to actually earn as a HighLevel affiliate (honest tips)
Here's the honest version. Results vary a lot, and HighLevel's own testimonial pages say the results shown are not typical. And Commander is a big number. US$100,000 in a year at 40% is roughly 71 customers on the US$297 Unlimited plan paying all year, or about 215 on the US$97 Starter plan. Nobody gets there from one viral post. With that said, this is what I'd do, and what I saw working in the room.
1. Teach one specific outcome, not "HighLevel". "How to set up missed-call text-back for a dental clinic" brings in buyers. "HighLevel is amazing" brings in nobody. Write for people who are already about to start a trial.
2. Keep the people you refer. You only earn while they keep paying, and your attribution drops off 30 days after they cancel. HighLevel's help doc says successful affiliates build communities, like Slack channels or Facebook groups, to mentor their referrals. Onboarding is where retention is won. If your referrals get stuck on set-up, that's lost commission.
3. Promote the add-ons honestly. Certifications and AI Employee are now in the 40% list. The Rising Star Commander at the party was recognised for promoting the certification program. If an add-on genuinely helps a client, mention it.
4. Go local. The Rising Star was also recognised for their region. HighLevel's Chapters program runs in-person meetups in cities including Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Turning up, helping people and being the local expert builds trust in a way a YouTube thumbnail can't. I wrote a full guide to every HighLevel chapter and how to lead one.
5. Track by channel from day one. Use SubIDs so you know whether your blog, email list or webinars send paying customers, and drop what doesn't work.
6. Book the free calls. The strategy sessions and Affiliate Manager call cost you nothing. The engagement call is compulsory anyway, so use it to get advice.
7. Don't buy your way in with bonuses. It's tempting to stack "free onboarding" or bonus bundles on your link. HighLevel's policies say incentives need written approval, so get that first or skip it.
HighLevel Commander and affiliate award tiers
The Commander details above come straight from HighLevel's Affiliate Commander help article and the LevelUp Awards page, which describes Commander as "an elite tier awarded to top-performing affiliates who generate a minimum of $100K in annual commissions from new referrals to upgrades".
A few details people get wrong:
- It resets every year. US$100,000 in lifetime commissions doesn't count. You need to hit it inside one qualification period.
- The year isn't a calendar year. The official help doc says the current period runs 1 September to 30 August.
- The jacket is earned, not bought. HighLevel's online store sells general HighLevel jackets, but the Commander jacket with annual badges is only for people who qualify.
The other affiliate awards: Affilionaire tiers
If US$100K feels a long way off, HighLevel also has the Affilionaire Awards for affiliates, listed on the LevelUp Awards page:
The same 1 September to 30 August cycle applies, only commissions from qualified referrals count, and winners are celebrated on stage at the LevelUp award show. The awards page also mentions a Supercharged SaaS Program that gives vehicle rewards to affiliates who achieve exceptional SaaS growth.
What about HighLevel Affiliate of the Year?
HighLevel names an Affiliate of the Year. The 2025 winner is featured on the official Affiliate Resource Hub, where he runs an "Affiliate Growth Series" on affiliate strategy. At the time of writing (27 October 2026), HighLevel hasn't published the 2026 Affiliate of the Year or the criteria for it. I'll update this post when it's official rather than guess.
Who the affiliate program suits (and who should skip it)
It suits you if you already have an audience of agency owners, coaches, consultants or small businesses; you can teach HighLevel well; or you run an agency and clients often ask what software you use.
Skip it, or wait, if you're hoping for quick income with no audience, or you plan to rely on paid ads against HighLevel's brand. The 45-day qualifying window, the US$50 minimum and the engagement call mean money comes slowly at first.
FAQs about the GoHighLevel affiliate program
How much commission does the GoHighLevel affiliate program pay?
HighLevel pays 40% recurring commission on direct referrals for Starter, Unlimited, Agency Pro (SaaS), the White Label Mobile App, HighLevel Certifications, AI Employee and other recurring add-ons. Approved second-tier referrals earn 5%. Source: the June 2026 affiliate agreement.
Is the HighLevel affiliate commission lifetime?
It's recurring for as long as the customer keeps paying for that product. If they cancel, the commission stops, and they're no longer attributed to you 30 days after cancellation unless they come back through your link with a new purchase.
How long does the GoHighLevel affiliate cookie last?
HighLevel credits commissions on a last-click basis within a 90-day window. If someone clicks another affiliate's link after yours, that affiliate usually gets the credit.
When does HighLevel pay affiliates?
Monthly, typically on the 15th of the month after HighLevel receives payment. You need a Tipalti account, complete tax info, and more than US$50 in commissions. The referral must also stay in good standing for 45 days.
How do I become a GoHighLevel affiliate?
If you have a HighLevel agency account, open Agency View, click Affiliate Portal and complete the onboarding. If you don't, apply at gohighlevel.com/joinaffiliate. Joining is free.
What is a HighLevel Commander?
A Commander is an affiliate who earns at least US$100,000 in commissions within one qualification year (1 September to 30 August). Perks include the Commander jacket with annual badges, a dedicated Slack channel and priority ticket escalation. It must be re-earned each year.
What is the HighLevel Rising Star Commander award?
It's a new recognition announced by HighLevel's affiliate team at the LevelUp 2026 Affiliate Welcome Party. It was presented to an affiliate who went above and beyond promoting HighLevel in their region and promoting the certification program. HighLevel hadn't published formal criteria at the time of writing.
Who is HighLevel's Affiliate of the Year?
HighLevel's 2025 Affiliate of the Year is featured on the official Affiliate Resource Hub. The 2026 recipient hadn't been published when I wrote this (27 October 2026).
Can I use my own affiliate link to sign up?
No. Self-referrals are banned and can lead to removal from the program and forfeited commissions.
Can I offer a bonus or coupon to people who use my link?
Not without HighLevel's written approval. The June 2026 policies prohibit affiliate-made discounts, coupons, promo codes, free trials, prizes and other incentives unless HighLevel authorises them.
